1. nine hours capsule hotel, Osaka Namba station
Nine hours capsule hotels can be found all around Japan, including the ones listed in my Tokyo capsule hotels post, in Fukuoka (Hakata Station), Nagoya (Nagoya Station), and near Narita Airport as well. The nine hours capsule hotel in Osaka is located at Namba station, a perfect base for exploring the rest of the city.
nine hours is my personal favorite capsule hotel, perfect for solo travelers. They are known for sleek interiors, great amenities and being located in convenient areas next to stations and popular neighborhoods.
Guests all receive a set of the same rental pajamas, rental slippers, and other toiletries here to add to the unique vibe. Floors and facilities are divided by gender, but the common areas are mixed, and usually include modern lounge spaces, working areas, and sometimes a cafe.
nine hours at Osaka Namba Station is a perfect Osaka capsule hotel to stay in especially if you’re arriving late to the city, or getting up early to explore my list of things to do in Osaka.

3. First Cabin capsule hotel
First Cabin is a cool, airline-themed capsule hotel chain that can be found around Japan, and especially near airports. Their capsules are more spacious than most capsule hotels and popular with Japanese business travelers.
Capsule options include business class and first class, which are more like personal cabins with full-size spaces (you can stand and even keep your luggage inside your capsule). If only actual airline travel looked this good! Some First Cabin hotels offer “premium economy class” rooms, which are more like traditional pod-like capsules too.
First Cabin capsule hotel locations in Osaka include:

Book and Bed Hotel in Shinsaibashi, Osaka is a modern and Instagrammable take on traditional capsule hotels in Osaka. Here, guests sleep inside of bookcases! Complete with an on-site cafe and plenty of reading nooks, it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a good manga after a day of exploring Osaka.

5. Cat Ryokan by Neko Republic
Cat Ryokan by Neko Republic is the perfect place to experience a capsule hotel and cat cafe. This unique Osaka ryokan is actually not a ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn), it’s a capsule hotel connected to a cat cafe. That’s right – guests can stay overnight with cats, and only one group (up to six people) is able to book the entire hotel.
Neko Republic is a well-known organization in Japan dedicated to cat rescue and adoption. This Neko Republic capsule hotel in Osaka is the only one of its kind, where guests can interact with rescue cats looking for their forever home. Although the cats have their own room to sleep in, guests here get one hour of play with the cats (who are all up for adoption), and in the evening, can keep a watchful eye on them through a glass window in your capsule.
The Cat Ryokan is the perfect place to stay, not just to play with cats, but to also take part in raising awareness and support for stray cats across Japan. Because the whole property can be booked for one group (up to six people), it’s the perfect capsule-style hotel to stay as a couple or with a family.
